What’s Happening: A Look Inside Our Event

Role of Volunteer

  1. Event Coordination and Logistical Support: Volunteers assist in planning and executing events, such as awareness campaigns, workshops, and educational seminars.
  2. Recreational and Therapeutic Activities: Volunteers facilitate group activities such as drawings, mental health awareness games, blind fold walks or organise study tours ex: brain museum visits, which promote children heath, rehabilitation and social reintegration.
  3. Befriending and Social Support: A major role involves one-to-one "befriending," where volunteers provide companionship, emotional support, and reduce isolation for individuals with mental illness.
  4. Data Collection & Reporting: Volunteers own or assist in tracking participation, gathering feedbacks, report creation, developing content and newsletters.

Role of Counsellor

  1. Screening and Assessment: Conducting rapid evaluations to determine mental, emotional, and social health status, identifying needs for immediate care.
  2. Psycho-education and Support: Conducting group workshops to enhance understanding of mental health issues, reducing stigma, and teaching coping skills.
  3. Referral and Advocacy: Connecting participants with long-term mental health professionals, community resources, or support groups.
  4. Regular Followups: Continuation of support, regular visits, maintaining history, mentoring & guidance to the beneficiaries.

General Guidelines

  1. Counsellors should maintain objective clinical documentation to support continuity of care and facilitate future referrals.
  2. All personnel are expected to be self-sufficient; please bring your own water, snacks, and stationery so that we can prioritize our time for those we serve.
  3. Maintain a standard of humility and kindness, ensuring every participant feels valued and respected.
  4. Let's stay ready to go with the flow, as things in the countryside can change at a moment's notice.
  5. Team members are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the site to ensure operational efficiency.
